BSA Camp McLoughlin
Lake of the Woods, Oregon
The Scout 5K begins at 10:00am.
From Medford or Klamath Falls take Highway 140 to the Lake of the Woods area and turn south onto FS Rd 3601 (paved). Camp McLoughlin will be on the left in a mile.
From Ashland and California via I-5, take Dead Indian Memorial Rd. to just before the Lake of the Woods area; turn left onto FS Rd 3601 (paved). Camp McLoughlin will be a few miles on the right.
Check-in is 8:45-9:45am in downtown camp. A mandatory race briefing will be held at 8:55am at the start line.
The race will start and finish at BSA Camp McLoughlin. The course will start with a few hundred yards of singletrack (Boy Scout Trail) and then head north for a short bit on gravel FS Rd 3640. Then a wide, flat, and fast section on the High Lakes Trail, before turning around. The return heads onto the Brown Mountain Trail, then turns left on the Scout Trail to head back into camp.
Total Elevation Gain: 155'.

As in "stuff we all get". As if running a great race isn't enough, every finisher will receive a goodie bag, finisher medal and patch, and access to the finish party. T-shirts can be purchased separately.
Primitive camping for Scout groups will be available at BSA Camp McLoughlin. Sorry, pets are not allowed at the camp. Camping fees for Scout groups are $15 total for <10 people; $25 total for 10-19 people; $35 total for 20-29 people; $45 for 30 or more people.
Scouts, families, and leaders can earn free camping and free Scout 5K entry by volunteering at the public race on Saturday, September 24.
