Mt. Ashland Ski Area
11 Mt. Ashland Ski Road, Ashland, OR
Half marathon and Half+ start at 8am. Summit Challenge starts at 8:30am.
From Exit 6 on I-5, follow the signs to Mt. Ashland- taking the Mt. Ashland Ski Rd. 8 miles to its terminus at the ski area.
Packet pickup is 7:00 - 8:15am at the ski area.
There will be a pre-race briefing 5 minutes prior to the start at the start line.
Half Marathon & Half+: The race will start and finish in the ski area parking lot. The course will follow Upper Bull Gap Trail to Bull Gap, then descend FS Road 2080. Next, gradually climb on Upper Eastview Trail and FS Road 2080-200. Transition to Lower Bull Gap Trail and Upper Bull Gap Trail back to the ski area. For those taking on the Half+, once back to the ski area you will complete one loop of the Summit Challenge. You can view the Strava route at https://www.strava.com/routes/3160368825750387730. The Half Marathon includes 2,315' of climbing and Half+ includes 3,236' of climbing.
You will visit the Bull Gap Aid Station twice, at miles 2.3 and 10.9. The Half+ will have fluid-only aid stations at 13.3 (lodge) and 14.2 (summit).
Total mileage of the Half Marathon is 13.3 miles and Half+ is 17.2 miles.
Summit Challenge: The race will start and finish in the ski area parking lot. The course will follow the Mt. Ashland Summit Trail, climbing nearly 1,000' in about a mile. Catch your breath at "the ball" and then descent back to the ski area using Forest Service Roads 300 and 20. You can view the Strava route at https://www.strava.com/routes/3044331369622839442. Each lap is approximately 3.9 miles at 921' of vertical climb.
There are three options this year: 1 lap, 2 laps, or 3 laps!
As in "stuff we all get". As if running a great race isn't enough, every finisher will also receive a nice commemorative item, as well as a finisher medal. Finish party will include refreshments. Shirts and other items are available as add-ons.
